Who I Am: The Streamer From Monterrey
I'm one of the best-known gaming creators in the Spanish-speaking world, and for a lot of you my streams are where the evening starts. Here's a short guide to me, for new viewers and old ones.
Who am I?
I'm Arigameplays, often written AriGameplays or Ari Gameplays, the online name of Abril Abdamari Garza Alonso, a Mexican streamer and YouTuber born on February 28, 1998, in Monterrey, Nuevo León. I studied communication sciences before my channels took over.
How did I start?
On July 23, 2014, I uploaded my first video to YouTube. I began with tutorials, then moved on to vlogs and Let's Plays. A second YouTube channel followed on February 17, 2019.
What do I play?
The games that brought me the most reach on YouTube were:
- Minecraft, for building and survival
- Grand Theft Auto V, for chaos with friends
- Fortnite and Overwatch, for fast online matches
- Planet Coaster, for theme parks built from scratch
I started streaming on Twitch in 2016, and live streams have been at the heart of my channel ever since.
What happened at La Velada del Año 2?
On June 25, 2022, I stepped into the boxing ring at La Velada del Año 2, the streamer fight night held in Badalona, Spain. I beat the Spanish streamer Paracetamor by split decision and was crowned the event's champion.
Have I made clothes before?
Yes. In 2022 I released a clothing line with El Rubius's brand MadKat, called MadKat x Ari Gameplays, with a pink illustration of Ari at its centre.
Where does Arigameplays Merch fit in?
Arigameplays Merch is our own store. It takes my name, my pink palette and my gaming life and puts them on tees, hoodies and sweatshirts.
